COSMETOLOGY I FOUNDATION (LCE 0086): Classroom instruction includes general theory and practical applications. Students become familiar with various tools and their uses, shampooing, chemicals, types of hair, sanitation, skin diseases and more. Includes hands-on practice. The fee for this class covers the state required application, all books, and your personal cosmetology tool kit. Prerequisite: Approval starts with Harper College. Call 847.925.6616.

COSMETOLOGY II INTERMEDIATE (LCO 0087): A combination of classroom instruction and hands-on application in chemical safety, permanent waving, hair coloring, tinting, bleaching, hair relaxing, hair and scalp conditioning, shampooing and rinsing. Students continue to review hygiene, anatomy, physiology, ethics, electricity, nail technology and esthetics. PREREQUISITE: Cosmetology I (LCO0086) Students must be pre-approved for the Cosmetology program. Call 847.925.6616 for scheduling details.

COSMETOLOGY III ADVANCED (LCO 0088): A continuation of the basic cosmetology course in clinical practice, this level emphasizes skin care. Attend a series of classes correlating the anatomy of the head, face and neck with current skin care practices. Upon graduation, an aesthetician’s certificate will be awarded. PREREQUISITE: Cosmetology II (LCO0087).

COSMETOLOGY IV ADVANCED 2 (LCO 0088): Continue advancing your skills in cutting, thinning, shaping, trimming, application of electrical and mechanical equipment, curling, hair treatments and marcelling. Continue to examine labor law, workers’ compensation, client relationships, and other business topics related to owning a business. Confirm your knowledge in other important topics in esthetics and nail technology. Prerequisite: LCO0088
