Adjunct Faculty Instructor in Music

Dani Robles is a musician, songwriter, educator, and audio engineer based in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago. They graduated cum laude from Lake Forest College and went on to earn their master’s degree in Sound Art from Northwestern University. An active performer and multi-instrumentalist, Dani plays in various groups and has toured extensively across the United States.

Deeply rooted in Chicago’s DIY music scene, they book and host local shows, curating diverse lineups that highlight emerging talent from across the city. They also serve as both artist manager and in-house engineer for Ur Mom Records, an independent record label focused on creating sustainable physical media and expanding opportunities for marginalized folk across the country. Dani is the singer-songwriter and bandleader of Calico Loco, a queercore alternative rock band named Chicago’s Best Emerging Band by the Chicago Reader in 2022. Its debut album was awarded Best Local Album in 2024.

As an educator, Dani runs a private studio where they teach piano, jazz, improvisation, and composition to students of all levels. They are a member of the Music Teachers National Association and currently serve as an adjunct instructor in music, audio, and jazz piano at Harper College.
