Industrial maintenance is a growing field with a high demand. All manufacturing companies require someone to maintain the equipment on the shop floor in order to reduce down-time. Maintenance Technicians need a wide range of skills from electrical / hydraulic to welding to precision machining and everything in between.
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship is a three-year program in which students attend courses in the Fall and Spring semesters. The rest of the year the apprentice receives industrial maintenance training from a dedicated mentor at the hiring company.
Industrial maintenance mechanics completing this program will have earned an A.A.S. degree in Mechatronics, three NIMS credentials, a certification from the Department of Labor that they are fully qualified for their occupation, and three years of experience.

Industrial maintenance mechanics perform essential functions in manufacturing. They build, test, repair, adjust, train, and troubleshoot technical systems including turning and grinding machines, milling, drilling, CNC, lathes and more. This is a field of high demand, good pay, and excellent growth opportunities.
