Harper College's Accounting Apprenticeship combines paid, full-time employment with college coursework, allowing apprentices to gain valuable workplace experience while earning a college credential. Designed for working professionals, the program provides a flexible pathway for apprentices to build accounting skills while continuing their careers.

Through the apprenticeship, participants complete Harper College's Advanced Accounting Bookkeeper/Clerk Certificate, a stackable credential that can be applied toward an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Accounting.

Coursework is designed to develop practical accounting skills that employers value, including financial recordkeeping, accounting systems, payroll, reporting, and business practices. Apprentices receive hands-on experience with their employer, guidance from a workplace mentor, and ongoing support from a Harper College apprenticeship coach throughout the program.

Upon completion, apprentices earn a Harper College certificate and a nationally recognized Registered Apprenticeship credential from the U.S. Department of Labor, demonstrating proficiency in their occupation.
