March Madness Events at the Rec Center

Join the March Madness fun with the Intramural Basketball League! IM sport leagues are a fun and social way to stay active, meet others, and build a community in a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment. Participants must be a Harper student or eighteen years or older with a valid I.D. Non-members may purchase a single-entry pass on the day of the event. 

General Information

• This four-week basketball league
• Wednesdays 12 to 12:45 p.m. at the Rec Center (Building M) fieldhouse, Court B and C

Rules and Regulations

• Teams shall consist of five players (this can fluctuate due to number of participants who attend on a particular day).
  • Players can register as part of a team or sign up solo to be placed on a team.
• All registered players are required to attend all four weeks of the league.
  • If there are any conflicts, please email Veronica Tantoco or call 847.925.6862.
• Each team will play one game per day of the league.
• Games consist of two teams playing two 20-minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
• A maximum of four teams can play on each day of the league.
• The tournament will be played round robin style where all teams will play each other once.
• The championship game will be played by the teams with the most wins.
• The overall winning team will be decided by the championship game results.

Prizes & Giveaways:

• All registered participants who attend all three times receive a $5.00 SODEXO gift card.
• The winning team takes home an exclusive Rec Center Intramural Championship T-shirt.

Kick off March Madness with a bracket creation party in the Gaming Lounge! Build your perfect bracket, enjoy some snacks, and talk hoops with friends. No registration required. Access to the Gaming Lounge is included in a Health and Recreation Center memberships and or the purchase of single-entry pass. Registration is not required.

Prizes and Giveaways:

• Snacks will be provided.
• Bracket accuracy winners (men's and women's) will receive a brand-new Wilson (Men's or Women's) basketball.

Catch all the excitement of the Men’s and Women’s NCAA tournaments in the Gaming Lounge! Grab your friends, find a spot, and cheer on your favorite teams as they battle for the championship. Whether you’re tracking every bracket-busting upset or just soaking in the tournament atmosphere, you won’t miss a second of the action. Snacks will be provided. Registration is not required.
