The Financial Flight Plan is Harper College’s financial wellness program designed to help students build practical money management skills, reduce financial stress, and feel more prepared for the future. Whether you’re learning how to budget, exploring ways to save, building credit, planning for major expenses, or just trying to better understand your finances, this program offers tools, support, and opportunities to help you move forward with confidence and knowledge. 

Financial wellness is not about having all the answers right away—it’s about learning, asking questions, building skills, and making informed decisions over time. The Financial Flight Plan is here to support you every step of the way. 

All students are welcome to participate. Whether you attend one workshop, meet for one-on-one support, explore online resources, or stay involved throughout the semester, there are multiple ways to engage and benefit.

Ways to Participate 

There are many ways to take part in the Financial Flight Plan throughout the semester. Students can: 

  • Attend financial wellness workshops and events 
  • Explore self-paced online learning tools and resources like iGrad
  • Schedule a one-on-one financial coaching session 
  • Participate in interactive activities and campus-wide financial wellness experiences 

Whether you’re just getting started or looking to strengthen your financial knowledge, every step you take helps you build skills that can support your future.

Topics covered

Throughout the semester, workshops, events, coaching, and online resources explore real-life financial topics that matter to students, including: 

  • Budgeting and financial goal setting 
  • Understanding financial aid, FAFSA, and scholarships 
  • Building and managing credit 
  • Saving and investing basics 
  • Identity protection and fraud prevention 
  • Understanding student loans and repayment 
  • Buying a car or making major purchases 
  • Preparing for real-world expenses and long-term financial planning

Looking for flexible, self-paced support? The Financial Flight Plan includes access to iGrad, an online financial wellness platform available to Harper College students and employees.

iGrad offers interactive tools, educational modules, calculators, and personalized resources to help Harper students and employees build financial knowledge and make informed decisions. Topics include budgeting, saving, credit, student loans, financial aid, investing, retirement, and planning for future financial goals.

Students can schedule a one-on-one financial coaching session with the Financial Flight Plan coordinator for personalized guidance and support. Coaching sessions are a great way to ask questions, explore resources, and create a plan that works for your individual goals.
