Harper College offices will be closed Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day.
Harper Wellness provides free NARCAN® (Naloxone Nasal Spray 4mg) and drug test strips through a request form. In addition, Naloxone is available in all AED machines across campus in case of an emergency. Harper College police also carry NARCAN®. The NARCAN® is provided by the Kenneth Young Center.
Naloxone, also known by its generic name, Naloxone HCI, is an emergency nasal spray to treat an opioid overdose of a narcotic medicine. For more information and to learn how to use NARCAN® Nasal Spray, visit https://narcan.com/resources.
The Kenneth Young Center is offering free 30-minute Naloxone (NARCAN®) trainings for all students, faculty, staff, and community members every month. Each session will cover education about commonly used opioids, the signs of an overdose, and how to administer NARCAN®, with time for Q&A. All participants will receive NARCAN® at the end of the training.
There is no cost for the training or any of the materials distributed. Participants only need to choose one of the 30 minute trainings.
For those interested in drug testing strips, the Kenneth Young Center currently provides free drug testing strips for Fentanyl, Xylazine, and Benzohiazepine. To request free testing strips, please complete the online request form.
