On The Path to 10,604
In 2009, President Obama challenged community colleges to produce five million more completions by 2020. In support of this national initiative, Harper College committed to reaching 10,604 additional degrees and certificates* earned by 2020.
This graph shows Harper's annual targeted and actual degree and certificate completions. Harper reached its goal in FY2017. The College continues its commitment to help more students complete and at the end of FY2018 reached 12,218 additional degrees and certificates earned.Target Degrees and Certificates represents the annual target and includes the additional degrees and certificates needed to reach the 10,604 goal. If the annual targets are met, the overall goal of 10,604 additional completions will be achieved.
Actual Degrees and Certificates represents the total number of degrees and certificates conferred. If the number is above the annual target, this indicates additional completions above the 10,604 goal.
*Additional degrees and certificates refer to those above the baseline of 2,288 credentials conferred in 2008
