This career is not subject to fluctuations in the economy as there will always be weather conditions. Hence, there is a constant demand for trained comfort systems service technicians and installers.
HVAC/R career options
HVAC/R specialists are trained to work with complex comfort mechanical systems in diagnosing electrical circuitries, system components, installation, service and repair for residential and commercial applications that offer a great deal of employment opportunities such as:

- Consulting
- Service, installation and design
- Building energy systems engineers

Job prospects for heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers are expected to be excellent, particularly for those who have completed training from an accredited technical school or a formal apprenticeship.
