Cultural Arts
Fine Arts
Harper College's art collection contains more than 300 pieces and is valued at over $1 million. The College employs
an art curator to ensure proper management and accessibility to the collection.
Annual National Art Exhibition: Small Works
Each year, the national Small Works Exhibit showcases approximately 25 small works of art, chosen (from over 300 entries) by
a juror. The exhibition is made possible through the support of the Foundation and
provides an opportunity for Harper students to see a variety of art forms, from painting
to mixed media, while calling attention to a cadre of national artists. Learn more about Small Works.
Performing Arts
Performing Arts Center Take A Seat Campaign
Harper College performances have entertained thousands of people for more than 40
years. Programs in music speech and theatre have produced inspired graduates, many
of whom have gone on to advance their education in the arts.
Recognizing the importance of advancing its programs to increase access to more students
and the community, Harper College built a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center.
If you would like to support current and future students, we invite you to participate
in our Take A Seat Campaign. Please contact the Educational Foundation at 847.925.6490 for a personal consultation.
Performing arts students at Harper College train with professional equity actors.
Courses in music, theatre, stagecraft, and dance offer students an array of choices
year round, while the College's performing arts faculty continue to perfect their
craft through professional performances and intensive training programs in the United
States and abroad. The Community Music Center is the only full-service community music school serving the northwest suburban area
of Chicago. Harper College is committed to ensuring access to this unique academy
for all students, regardless of their ability to pay for classes.
