Q01221 Building R Auditorium Lighting and Controls Upgrade

Bid Information

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Trustees, Harper College, on February 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time for furnishing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for the Building R Auditorium Lighting & Controls Upgrade, Bid Request No. Q01221. Bids shall be submitted via Dropbox Request.

Bids will be opened publicly immediately following the deadline for receipt of bids via Webex.

Scope of Work

The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Removal and upgrading of existing house, orchestra shell, and cyclorama lighting, including associated lighting controls.

Lump sum bid proposals will be received for this project at the scheduled time of receipt of bids and will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Central Time on January 29, 2026, in Building W, Room W-219 at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, Illinois 60067. All bidders are encouraged to attend and sign in. A pre-bid walk-through of the area of work will take place immediately following the meeting.

Questions

Submit all questions in writing via email regarding the bidding documents to the Engineer at ekrieg@dlrgroup.com and copy the Harper College Purchasing Department at purchasing@harpercollege.edu. Replies will be issued to all bidders of record in the form of an addendum. Questions received later than 4:00 p.m. Central Time on January 30, 2026 may not be answered.

Bid Requirements

  • Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the aggregate of the base bid amount and all alternate bid amounts is required.
  • Performance, Labor, and Material Payment Bonds, and a Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful bidder.
  • No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after submission without consent of the Board of Trustees.
  • Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, by fax, by email, or received after the stated date and time may be disqualified and returned to the bidder.

Legal and Compliance Requirements

  • Harper College reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities or informalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the College.
  • All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois laws regarding prevailing wages, labor standards, and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
  • Contractors shall comply with the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
  • Bidders shall comply with the Harper College Business Enterprise Program, which includes a five percent (5%) aspirational participation goal.

Availability of Bidding Documents

Bidding documents will be on file at the office of DLR Group – Chicago. Interested contractors may obtain a set of construction documents on or after January 20, 2026 upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $50 from the printer.
