To create a list, highlight a list item and click on the Bullet list or Numbered list icons in the fomatting bar.
The default style for lists is to use a bullet (as opposed to a number). Numbered lists can be used when a specific order is important to communicate, such as step-by-step instructions. Generally, list items do not need have periods at the end, or they can have a period at the end of the last item if the items in the list complete a sentence. For list items that are or contain complete sentences, a period or semi-colon at the end of the item may be necessary. Lists should be preceeded by a heading and/or introductory text.

Creating a list with headings requires editing in the source code directly. List headings can be made with either <h3> or <h4> tags — which tag is used depends on the level of heading that preceeds it. In this example, the list has <h4> headings because an <h3> ("Lists with headings") preceeds it. The text below the heading is wrapped in <p> tags.
