Graduation FAQs

Please share your feedback about the 2022 graduation ceremony.

Attention faculty and administrators! We look forward to seeing you at the commencement ceremony and sharing this special occasion with you. The following information is designed to answer questions you might have about the ceremony:

Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. on the Harper College main campus. The ceremony will take place outdoors in the Drs. Kenneth and Catherine Ender Pavilion behind Building D.

Arrive no later than 10 a.m. Procession will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m. Parking is available in lots 8-14 and parking structure G (parking is free of charge). You will enter D building via the quad and there will be signage directing you to the appropriate entrance.

You may pick up your cap and gown the day of graduation in Building D Room 114. Gowns will be labeled and pressed and staff from HarperStore will be there to help. If you have questions regarding your cap and gown, contact HarperStore at extension 6275.

You will line-up in the same hallway that you pick up your gown – D114. Faculty and administrators will line-up in two lines in D Building. Students will process first from the Rotunda of D Building then faculty and administrators, followed by the platform party which includes the President, Board of Trustees, guest speaker, and the President of the Faculty Senate. Faculty members from the Health Careers division will assist with the line-up process.

Return your cap and gown to the designated area (D114) in Building D directly after the ceremony.

There will be no designated area at the ceremony where you may leave your valuables. Please have your cell phone or any other electronic devices set to vibrate.

The ceremony will last approximately one and a half hours.

Please make sure to check the Harper web site for the most up-to-date information about weather conditions and the commencement ceremony. If the ceremony cannot be held outside due to inclement weather, the graduation will take place in the gymnasium, Building M. Due to the size of the venue, only graduates and faculty will be able to be seated in the gymnasium. All guests may view the ceremony live on various locations across campus or view livestream from home.
