Hawks Care Services for Students

Updated 3/13/20: Due to the continued global outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Harper College will be operating in an off-campus flexible learning period from March 16-April 12. During this time, students are not to come to campus.

If you need food, personal hygiene products or emergency funding in the interim, please reach out to your local township for assistance. Alternative support may be available through these community resources. For the latest information, please visit harpercollege.edu/advisory.

Is money tight right now? Do you need a little help with a missed meal? Maybe there’s an emergency that knocked your budget out of whack and you’re not sure how you’ll afford all the things you need. It’s all temporary, but Hawks Care is here to help in these moments.

Hawks Care offers food, personal hygiene supplies, school supplies, lunch/grocery/gas cards to help you bridge the gap. Supplies are limited and may vary from week to week.

We can also refer you to agencies in the area who may help support more long-term situations for food and/or transportation.

Hawks Care Support is available when campus is open  to Harper students who are enrolled in at least one credit course during the current semester.

For emergency fund gift cards for cafeteria, gas/transportation, grocery or campus bookstore contact Advising Services at 847-925-6220.

For food, personal hygiene and/or school supplies complete the Hawks Care Main Campus form below.

Learning & Career Center (LCC) 

Hawks Care Support at the Learning and Career Center (LCC) in Prospect Heights provides an anonymous shopping experience for currently enrolled students at the LCC in Prospect Heights. We also house a snack shack with foods available for immediate consumption.

Please contact our front desk at 847.925.6001 or visit us at 1375 Wolf Road, Prospect Heights for access and hours.

Technology Loan Requests from the Library

The College is assisting enrolled Harper students with technology loans for items such as Chromebooks, Graphing Calculators, and Hot Spots for use in completing their coursework. The College Library is coordinating the loans. The student will need to complete the Technology Loan form which can be accessed via the following link.

Once a student completes the form, he/she will receive an e-mail with an attachment of the technology loan contract. The student will need to agree to the terms of the contract.
