HOPE Giving Circle
Helping Others through the Power of Education
The HOPE Giving Circle brings together influential women of diverse backgrounds with
a common goal of supporting students in their educational goals. HOPE members combine
their resources to make a greater collective impact on the lives of students pursuing
higher education at Harper College.
Through scholarship support, mentoring, professional development opportunities and
other means, the HOPE Giving Circle is committed to empowering students to reach their
full potential through educational attainment and leadership development. The HOPE
Giving Circle holds four events per year to inspire women in the community to support
the program and to foster ongoing engagement with the scholarship recipients.
HOPE Audience:
- HOPE members and audience includes female leaders in business, education, law and
other prominent fields
- Average annual donation from a HOPE member to Harper: $11,000
- Invitations and newsletters mailed to 450 women approximately six times each year
HOPE Giving Circle impact since inception in 2015:
- Twenty-seven students received scholarships
- $270,000 awarded in scholarships
- Twenty-two students have transferred on to 4-year institutions; of those eighteen
recently graduated with bachelors degrees.
- Over $370,000 funds raised to date
- Over 130 local female leaders contributing to date
