Striving Toward Educational Prosperity (STEP) is here to support students and families
as they transition into college life at Harper.
With a foundation in uplifting Black students and their families, STEP offers encouragement,
resources, and guidance to ease the journey from high school to college. By fostering
belonging, connection, and academic confidence, STEP helps foster a sense of belonging during the college exploration and enrollment process where all students and their supporters are empowered to thrive.
Our goals are:
- Empowerment: Provide students and families with the tools and information to navigate the higher
education landscape, by making college more accessible.
- Education: Offer comprehensive guidance on available academic programs, financial assistance
options, admission processes, and career planning strategies.
- Engagement: Foster an inclusive and supportive campus environment that encourages community engagement,
networking, and lifelong learning.
- Excellence: Nurture the academic potential of students and support them in achieving their educational
goals, leading to a successful and fulfilling future.
