Nursing Alumni Symposium

The symposium was made possible with the generous support of Premier Sponsor, AMITA Health/Alexian Brothers Health System and Symposium Sponsors, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Northwest Community Healthcare.

  • - Symposium guests mingle and enjoy a continental breakfast before the symposium begins.

  • - There is standing room only in the 250 seat amphitheater during the morning presentation.

  • - Julie D’Agostino, Director of Nursing, welcomes attendees to the symposium.

  • - Alumni are recognized during the Alumni Roll Call at the beginning of the program.

  • - Dr. Ken Ender, President of Harper College, extends a warm welcome to the alumni, students, faculty members and community partners in attendance.

  • - Guest speaker, Dr. Gwen Sherwood, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing gives an engaging presentation on “Reflective Practice.”

  • - Attendees are encouraged to ask questions during the presentations.

  • - Guest speaker, Ryan Pennau keeps everyone smiling during his presentation.

  • - Current nursing students visit with recruiters from the symposium’s Premier Sponsor, Alexian Brothers Health System.

  • - The networking luncheon is a hit.

  • - Current nursing students enjoy a moment of camaraderie.

  • - Harper nursing alumna, Ann Ryan (class of 1970) enjoys the symposium.

  • - Symposium guests view the evidence-based practice poster presentations.

  • - Alumni enjoyed tours of the Harper College Simulation Hospital.

  • - Students have the opportunity to visit with representatives of four-year universities during the transfer/continuing education fair.
