photo of Mike TersonMike Terson graduated from Harper in 1993, and went on to earn his bachelor degree in communications at Northern Illinois University in 1995.  He is currently the superintendent of communications and marketing at the Buffalo Grove Park District, where he’s worked since 2004.

Before that, Mike spent 2 years in advertising with Auto Trader Magazines, 3 years in education as the Associate Director of Admissions at MacCormac College, and 3 years as a radio announcer.  In addition, Mike worked as the public address announcer for the Chicago Cubs during the 2005 - 2008 seasons, and Chicago Wolves from 1999 - 2012, and again in 2017.

Mike lives in Buffalo Grove with his wife Nicole and their son Jack, where he served as a village trustee from 2011 - 2015.  In his spare time, he plays drums for the popular rock cover band, Industrial Drive, that performs at a variety of bars, festivals, and community concerts in the park throughout the area.  Mike also does some public speaking; and, in 2017 he gave a TED Talk titled, “Sucking The Fun Out Of Youth Sports,” about inappropriate adult behavior in youth sports.
