Ongoing Activities:

  • Thrive Kits (Online Registration Begins Monday, March 30, While Supplies Last)
    • Sign up to receive a free Thrive Kit! As part of Finals Week Programming, this kit is filled with fun and mindfulness-related activities, snacks, and useful information to help you get through the end of the semester. Sign-ups are limited to one kit per student and will be open through Sunday, April 12, while supplies last. Thrive Kits will be mailed to the address you provide on this submission. Contact Ailyn Trujillo at ta22842@harpercollege.edu with any questions.
  • Community Puzzles at the JPRC and Library (All Day)
    • Take a break by working on a community puzzle! Stop by anytime outside the Job Placement Resource Center (I-117) or inside the Library (F-206) during open hours to work on our community puzzles.
  • AFK Zone (Away From the Keyboard), 12 to 8 p.m., Rec Center Gaming Lounge (M-1201)
    • Need a break from finals stress? Stop by our AFK (away from the keyboard) zone and find a cozy space to unwind, enjoy snacks, and take a moment for yourself. Whether you want to chill to music, do a quick puzzle, play a board game or card game, or just relax, this is your spot. Must be eighteen years or older with a valid I.D. Nonmembers may purchase a single-entry pass on the day of the event.

Monday, May 4:

  • Sound Meditation, 11 to 11:45 a.m. and 12 to 12:45 p.m., Library (F-226)
    • Join meditation facilitator Jay Taylor for an experience in sound and music. Lie down, get comfortable, and engage with the powerful frequencies of the crystal singing bowls. As the sound evolves, practice the art of acceptance and become aware of sensations, thoughts, emotions, and memories that arise and give way to a deep state of relaxation. No skills, abilities, or beliefs are required to participate and/or benefit from the experience. You may bring a yoga mat, blanket, and/or a pillow; chairs and a limited number of yoga mats are also available.
  • Make and Take Canvas Magnet, 12 to 2 p.m., Outdoor Quad
    • Stop by to design your own mini canvas magnet anytime on Monday, May 4 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm in the Quad (Rain Location: Avante Concourse). Whether you paint something calming, motivational, or just for fun, this hands-on activity is a great way to relax, recharge, and express yourself in preparation for finals. All supplies will be provided, so you can focus on unwinding and making something uniquely yours. Drop in anytime, stay as long as you'd like, and leave with a one-of-a-kind keepsake! Questions?   • Free 10-Minute Chair Massage, 12:30 to 2 p.m., Rec Center Lobby (Building M)
    • Students from the Harper College Massage Therapy Program will provide free Seated Chair Massages. Seated chair massage sessions involve massage for the back, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. Clients often report feeling relaxed but also energized afterward. No appointments necessary - first come, first served. Clients should wear comfortable clothing and will remain clothed during their session. 
  • Yoga Fusion, 6 to 6:55 p.m., Rec Center (M-1010)
    • Yoga and Yogalates classes help reduce stress through safe postural poses and core strengthening techniques. Students are encouraged to stay within their individual limitations by progressing gradually through the various levels of the poses. Props are often used to help support and adapt the poses for everybody. All levels are welcome. Must be eighteen years or older with a valid I.D. Nonmembers may purchase a single-entry pass on the day of the event.

Tuesday, May 5:

  • Guided Flow Yoga, 9 to 9:55 a.m., Rec Center (M-1010)
    • Yoga and Yogalates classes help reduce stress through safe postural poses and core strengthening techniques. Students are encouraged to stay within their individual limitations by progressing gradually through the various levels of the poses. Props are often used to help support and adapt the poses for everybody. All levels are welcome. Must be eighteen years or older with a valid I.D. Nonmembers may purchase a single-entry pass on the day of the event.
  • Refueling Station, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Avante Concourse
    • Stop by the Avante Concourse for a quick study break to grab a snack and coffee! Refueling your body while studying can help improve concentration and ability to retain information. Pick up a grab and go snack for all of your studying needs and learn about mental health resources to help support you before and after finals.
  • Free 10-Minute Chair Massage, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m., Rec Center Lobby (Building M)

  • Paint Your Piggy: De-Stress & Save, 10 to 2 p.m., Building D Rotunda
    • Take a break before finals and decorate your own mini piggy bank! This fun and relaxing financial wellness activity give students a chance to de-stress, get creative, and take home a simple reminder to start building healthy saving habits. 

Wednesday, May 6:

  • Free 10-Minute Chair Massage, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., 3 to 4:30 p.m., and 6:45 to 8:15 p.m., Rec Center Lobby (Building M)
    • Students from the Harper College Massage Therapy Program will provide free Seated Chair Massages. Seated chair massage sessions involve massage for the back, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. Clients often report feeling relaxed but also energized afterward. No appointments necessary - first come, first served.   • Comfort Dogs, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Library (F-206)
    • Take a break with comfort dogs! Stop by the Library anytime between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to greet and de-stress with a comfort dog. 
  • Let's Chat: Teatime with the Therapists, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Library (F-206)
    • Join us for a cozy meet‑and‑greet in the Library, where you can unwind with a cup of coffee or tea and snacks. It’s a relaxed chance to connect with our therapists and get to know the team in a friendly, low‑key setting.

  • You Got This: Pancakes for Success, 9 to 11 a.m., Cultural Center (D-281)
    • Join the Cultural Center for a Pancake Breakfast during Finals Week. Come grab breakfast, then stick around to study together in the fishbowl or separately in our quiet study room.
