The general education learning outcomes are achieved as a result of successful completion of the general education requirements for any degree program. The outcomes state that upon completion of a degree program, the student should be able to effectively:

Communication

Communicate information and concepts in oral and written formats.

  • Status:  The 2013-14 assessment results can be found here. Improvement Plan created fall 2016. Follow-up assessment conducted spring 2017, with the next full assessment to be conducted in 2018-19.

Critical Thinking

Use evidence to develop arguments, make decisions, and evaluate outcomes.

  • Status:  The 2017-18 assessment results can be found here. Improvement Plan to be developed 2018-19.

Diverse Perspectives and Cultures

Examine diverse perspectives and cultures as they relate to the individual, the community, and the global society.

  • Status:  The 2016-2017 assessment results can be found here. Improvement Plan created 2017-18, implemented beginning fall 2018.

Information Literacy

Apply a variety of credible sources to support a given topic.

  • Status:  The 2014-15 assessment results can be found here. Improvement Plan created in spring 2016, implemented beginning fall 2016. Follow-Up assessment conducted in spring 2018; results under review.

Quantitative Reasoning

Use quantitative analytical skills to interpret and evaluate problems.

  • Status:  The 2015-16 assessment results can be found here. Improvement Plan created 2016-17, implemented beginning 2017-18. Follow-up assessment to be conducted 2018-19.
