Manufacturing Information Session

Harper College has added a second information session for prospective students of its new Advanced Manufacturing Program.

In July, more than 70 people packed a campus meeting room to get the scoop on the already popular program, which provides specialized certification and paid internships in an effort to address a notable shortage of skilled workers.

A second session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 14 in Rooms 216 and 217 of the Wojcik Conference Center on Harper's main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine. The session will feature comments from an industry professional and offer further details about the program, which kicks off this fall.

The Advanced Manufacturing Program boasts partnerships with more than 50 area manufacturers and allows students to complete a certificate in just one semester - then build on that to earn specialized training and an associate of applied science degree.
