With porcelain as its central material, Mie Kongo’s work employs a range of materials including metal, felt, wood, glass, and plastics. Through playful yet structured experimentation she strives to create sculptural compositions that bring these elements into balance, sometimes precariously but always perfectly. She is Chicago-based artist and educator whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
