Engineers bring science, engineering and technology together to create products and services that benefit people. Engineers are needed in a number of high-tech industries, including software development, research, aerospace, telecommunications, manufacturing, construction and more.

Computer engineers work on software engineering projects or create algorithms to improve machine-learning capabilities.

Mechanical engineering focuses on using engineering principles to design and construct machines. Electrical engineering offers the opportunity to design, develop, test and manufacture electrical systems. Finally, building engineering puts a focus on the design, construction and maintenance of buildings.

Possessing a bachelor's degree in engineering is often necessary for entry into the engineering field, and many roles require advanced degrees.
