Monica graduated from the Fast Track program with a HRM Certificate and was on the Dean's List.  Several of her work colleagues also joined her in the cohort program. Monica is a Branch Manager at Chase Technical Staffing, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm. She offers her experience and sound advice to future students:

Describe your Fast Track experience

My fast track experience was excellent. The instructors in the program helped me along the way. At the start, I was unsure if I would be able to handle my home life, work and school. Now, I look forward to getting a thorough understanding of HR which is a stepping stone to help me reach my career goals.

What are some suggestions for succeeding in the program

Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you are uncertain of anything. Here’s my other suggestions:

• Do not procrastinate with yourself about distractions; make sure you give yourself the time to complete the work.  
• Treat your schoolwork like a job. Clock in every day.
• Each teacher has different expectations. Don’t be surprised by this. 
• Use the tools that are given to you to be successful.

How has your life changed since starting the program

I have a better understanding of the HR concepts and use them daily in my workplace.

What are your future educational or career plans

I decided to move forward with my associate degree; the timing is just right for me.
