CPA Examination Preparation

Harper's CPA prep certificate courses are approved to meet CPA exam requirements.

In order to sit for the CPA examination, students must obtain a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in any field (this does not need to be in accounting), and 150 semester hours of college credit. The 150 semester hours of credit should include 30 hours of accounting credit, and 24 hours of business courses other than accounting.

Additional hours beyond the bachelor’s degree, and/or accounting/business courses may be taken at Harper College. It is recommended that students submit their transcripts to the Illinois Board of Examiners for evaluation prior to completing all 150 credits. See www.ilboe.org for the full set of requirements.
