Harper College offices will be closed Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day.
Harper College’s second annual employer summit, Build Your Bench Strength, is set to bring together business leaders and experts for a day of insightful workforce discussions and networking.
This year’s summit, which takes place 8 a.m.-noon Friday, November 3, on Harper’s Palatine campus, will feature keynote speaker Sam Acho, an ESPN sports analyst, National Football League veteran, vice president of the NFL Players Association and author.
The employer summit aims to address the evolving landscape of workforce dynamics, providing essential strategies for organizations to thrive in the ever-changing, post-pandemic world of work.
As the “Great Resignation” transforms into the “Big Stay,” employers are confronted with the undeniable fact that today’s workforce seeks purpose. Employees desire more than just a job; they yearn for a meaningful career that fosters engagement and growth. The power of purpose is not a new concept, and forward-thinking companies recognize the necessity to reevaluate their approaches to empower their workforce and create environments that encourage continuous career and skills development.
Harper’s event will tackle these critical issues, providing a platform for leaders to delve into why investing in people and nurturing their potential is now more crucial than ever. The event will explore strategies for creating workplaces that inspire growth, engagement and long-term satisfaction for both employers and employees.
In addition to learning how to adapt to change and grow talent from within, attendees will enjoy a complementary buffet breakfast, Q&A with an experts panel, and network with area business leaders and Harper representatives. The first 100 people to arrive will receive a copy of Acho’s book, Change Starts With You.
The Build Your Bench Strength employer summit kicks off at 8 a.m. Friday, November 3, at the Wojcik Conference Center at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. Registration is free, but spaces are limited. Please register to secure your spot.
