The Library's 40th Anniversary

The 40 Years of the Library and Beyond project began as a simple request to show how the Library at William Rainey Harper College has changed since its opening in the fall of 1967. Staff of the Library and College Archives sorted through over 40 years of documents, both print and photographic to create a pictorial storyline. The project is constantly changing with new information being discovered daily and exciting changes to the Library about to begin.  

The photographs displayed are mostly digital copies of archival items. They have been adjusted for contrast, brightness, color and size before being added to this page. Original versions of these items can all be found at the Harper College Library Archives.

Information was found through yearbooks, historical texts, and oral interviews.
