The Harper College Board of Trustees will vote on the appointment of Dr. Avis Proctor as the sixth President of William Rainey Harper College on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at its Committee of the Whole meeting.
Dr. Proctor currently serves as Broward College’s North Campus President in Coconut Creek, Florida.
The Board of Trustees conducted an extensive national search with the assistance of R.H. Perry & Associates, which generated 43 applicants and 35 qualified candidates. The 19-member Presidential Search Advisory Committee interviewed 10 candidates, with three advancing as finalists. Each finalist participated in a day and a half of meetings with the Board, constituent groups and the college community.
“We are grateful to R.H. Perry & Associates and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee for their assistance in our presidential search process,” said Greg Dowell, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The Board of Trustees looks forward to discussing the appointment of Dr. Proctor as the next President of Harper College to continue our commitment to student success.”
