Canning Student Center

The Canning Student Center will be a welcoming beacon in our community. This new front door to campus will centralize services that are critical to student success, convene campus life activities to help foster students’ sense of belonging, and house the University Center and Hospitality Management programs. Update: Access is restricted to the circle drive in front of Building A and the main entrance of Building A. If visiting Buildings A or C, parking on the north side of campus (in lots 8-14) may be preferable. Please allow yourself extra time to get around campus and refer to the interactive map for help with wayfinding. See the Canning Site Plan (PDF) for a map of affected areas.

Elevators:

Building A Passenger Elevator Out of Service - 4/3/2025 - date unknown

Building A Freight Elevator Out of Service - 5/31/2025 - date unknown

The elevators in Building A are currently out of service due to significant repairs. At this time, we do not have an exact timeline for when the work will be completed, but it is expected to take several weeks. The nearest elevators are in Building W and in Building L (near the Building P hallway). The Building L elevator will provide access to Building P and the second floor of Building C.

LCC Elevator is now operational

Pace Bus Stop:

Due to construction on campus, the bus stop for Pace route 697 has been relocated to the front of Building Y by lot 4.

Parking:

Parking lot 2A - underground utility work, 6/30/2025 - 8/8/2025

Lot 2A will be unavailable June 30 to August 8 so underground utilities can be installed.

Buildings:

Building A – HVAC Improvements, 5/19/2025 - 7/2/2025

Systems will be improved and/or replaced to enhance energy efficiency, occupant comfort and overall system performance.

Buildings D, E & H – HVAC Maintenance, 6/19/2025

There will be no HVAC in buildings D, E, H & I for Preventive Maintenance on Thursday, June 19.

Buildings D & H – HVAC Maintenance Project, 5/19/2025 - 6/10/2025

Contractors will be working on the rooftop units during these dates between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Some classrooms and offices will experience temperature fluctuations during this time.

Buildings L, M and R - Water Shut Down - 6/19/2025 - 6/20/2025 (9 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.)

Water will be shut down for Buildings L, M and R from 9 p.m. June 19 through 5:30 a.m. June 20 in order to relocate the water main.

Buildings XYZ - HVAC Building Automation System Upgrades, 11/1/2024 - 6/30/2025
HVAC systems are being upgraded throughout all of the buildings to improve heating and cooling control.

Buildings XYZ - No water - 6/19/2025 (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.)

Buildings X, Y and Z (Avante) will be without water from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, for the installation of a new city water pump system. The fire system will remain in service.

Building Y - HVAC work, 8/1/2025 - 8/10/2025

The building will be closed to accommodate the replacement of the fan array system. During this time, the HVAC system will be shut down, and the building will be unoccupied due to the lack of ventilation and climate control. Please make any necessary arrangements in advance. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Learning and Career Center - Parking Lot Lights Upgrades, 5/28/2024 - 6/30/2025

Main Campus and LCC - Annual Concrete Repairs, 7/7/2025 - 9/30/2025
Contrators will be on campus to remove and replace deteriorated sidewalk sections throughout campus. All buildings will remain open and accessible during this time.
