Canning Student Center

The Canning Student Center will be a welcoming beacon in our community. This new front door to campus will centralize services that are critical to student success, convene campus life activities to help foster students’ sense of belonging, and house the University Center and Hospitality Management programs. Note: Access is restricted to the circle drive in front of Building A and the main entrance of Building A. If visiting Buildings A or C, parking on the north side of campus (in lots 8-14) may be preferable. Please allow yourself extra time to get around campus and refer to the interactive map for help with wayfinding. See the Canning Site Plan (PDF) for a map of affected areas.

Pace Bus Stop:

Due to construction on campus, the bus stop for Pace route 697 has been relocated to the front of Building Y by lot 4.

Buildings:

Z138 Hallway Closed - 12/23/2025

Please be advised that there will be a scheduled closing of the link hallway between Bldgs. L and Z Tuesday, December 23 from 7:00 a.m. -4:30p.m. in order to clean and seal the floor tile.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Building L Exterior Stairs - 11/3/2025 - 4/1/2026

The exterior stairs on the north side of Bldg. L will be rebuilt. Access to Bldg. L and the HarperStore will be directed through Bldg. F. The work will start November 3^rd and continue through April 1, 2026. Landscaping will be done in the spring.

Buildings XYZ - Lobby Flooring and Baseboard Heat Replacement, 12/15/2025 - 1/9/2026

The lobby entrance will be closed while contractors remove and replace the flooring and baseboard heat. There will be no access to the stairs.

Buildings XYZ - HVAC Building Automation System Upgrades, 11/1/2024 - 10/30/2025

HVAC systems are being upgraded throughout all of the buildings to improve heating and cooling control.

LCC Parking Lot Renovation Project (Phase 1) - 10/13/25 – 12/15/25

The east portion of the LCC parking is undergoing renovation to create new access from Piper Lane and create a dedicated Truck training area for the CDL program. The project will also improve site drainage and lighting.

Across Campus

Parking Garage - Wednesday, 11/26/2025

In preparation for the 2026 snow season, Facilities will be closing the top level of the parking garage. It will reopen in early spring.

BUSINESS & SOCIAL SCIENCE BUILDING

The passageway between the old Bldg. J and Bldg. X will be closed for utility site work. This work will continue through Spring 2026. There will be signage directing pedestrians to alternate routes. See Map
