Carol Walgren-Georgas, pianist, is author of articles on piano for the American Music Teacher, the Illinois State Music Teacher Periodical, and on class piano for The Clavier Companion. She holds music degrees from the University of Iowa in piano performance, Eastern Illinois University where she received her M.A. and has done post graduate degree work at the University of Illinois.

Walgren-Georgas taught class piano at Northwestern for nine years and since then, has taught at Harper College. Her lectures have been featured at local, state and national venues. She is a nationally certified teacher and member of the Music Teacher National Association, is Foundation Chair of the Illinois State Music Teacher Association, is active in the Northwest Suburban Music Teacher Organization and performs each semester at Harper.

She has studied piano with John Simms and Alan Aulabaugh and pedagogy with Frances Larimer, James Lyke, and E.L. Lancaster. On scholarship, studies took her to Perugia, Italy, and four summers at the Interlochen Music Academy in Michigan where her emphasis was piano, drama, and ballet.
