Zumba with the Provost; Thursday, September 29 from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m.

Bring on the fun and participate in Zumba with the Provost of Harper College. Zumba is a dance based aerobic workout featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American, Hip Hop and Pop dance. This workout is led by the Dr. MaryAnn Janosik, Provost and Zumba instructor and is set to Latin rhythms as we are also celebrating Latin X Heritage Month. All levels are welcome.

Campus Recreation and Harper Wellness offer a variety of group exercise classes FREE for Harper students and Health and Recreation Center members! Our classes are led by certified group exercise instructors with expertise in providing motivating, challenging and fun group exercises classes to a wide range of populations.

Group Exercise Class Descriptions

FST (Functional Strength Training)

This class is designed to build lean and strong muscles while increasing overall endurance. Equipment includes a variety of hand weights, medicine balls, the body bar, resistance tubes and your own body weight for a total body workout. (All Levels)

Guided Flow Yoga

Guided Flow Yoga combines postures sequenced together in a dynamic precise nature to warm up the body, followed by athletic and physical postures that focus on body alignment, finished with longer poses to allow the muscles to surrender and stretch. This class is fully guided. (All Levels)

Healthy Back Yoga

Healthy Back Yoga helps reduce stress through safe postural poses and core strengthening techniques. Students are encouraged to stay within their individual limitations by progressing gradually through the various levels of the poses. Props are often used to help support and adapt the poses for everybody. (All Levels)

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

This non-stop powerhouse workout is guaranteed to burn calories and get your heart pumping. HIIT includes High Intensity Interval Training by combining strength exercises with cardio in short intervals. (Intermediate/Advanced)
Based on the principals of Joseph Pilates, this mat based class will strengthen and lengthen muscles, while opening joints and releasing tension. This is a powerful workout designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and coordination. (All Levels)

New! Power Hour

Join us in the fitness center for this interval training style, small group class utilizing the SYNRGY360 and a variety of equipment including, resistance bands, medicine balls, TRX, kettle bells and the BOSU. This class offers an inviting and meaningful workout experience for all who participate and is a fun cardio and strength options that keeps you guessing. (All Levels)


This high-energy studio cycling class will take you on an exciting journey of hill climbs, sprints, and intervals that focus on form, speed, strength, and endurance. Heart rate monitors will be available for checkout in the Spin Studio before class. (All Levels)

New! Spin Circuit

This circuit style workout combines strength segments, utilizing resistance bands, with spin segments on the Spin bikes. Strength segments are precise movements focusing on targeted muscles, whereas the Spin segments provide cardio work that gets the heart rate pumping. (All Levels)

New! Thive & Fit

This class gives you all the fitness training you will need to thrive and stay fit! Cardio, strength, balance and flexibility exercises are set to inspiring music using a variety of combinations and equipment. This class is sure to keep you strong, fit and healthy. (All Levels)

New! Track Movement

This fitness walking workout combines the rhythmic natural motion of walking with positive social interaction, and bodyweight exercises. Intervals of more intense walking combined with slower paced walking and upright bodyweight exercises offer a total body (and mind) workout. (All Levels)

Total Body Barre

This class combines core training with easy to follow ballet exercises designed to lengthen and tone muscles. These body weight exercises will help activate the abdominals, pelvic floor, and lower back to strengthen the core, increase balance and enhance hip mobility. (All Levels)

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow Yoga uses the power of breath to flow from pose to pose while focusing on alignment. These fast-paced postures flow through each movement with intent while focusing on the rhythm of your breath to create energy and heat in the body. (All Levels)

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga combines passive, longer held floor poses that targets the deep tissues, the connective tissues, and the deep fascia of the body. Poses are held for up to five minutes so the muscles can stop pulling or pushing and surrender. This class is fully guided. (All Levels)
