Get Fit for Fall

Harper employees! Get fit this fall by participating in the group exercise classes held at the Health and Recreation Center. This four-week promotion is free to all Harper employees and includes:

  • Eight drop-in group exercise classes
  • Participate between Monday, October 4 through Saturday, October 30
  • Drop into any In-Person Campus Recreation Group Exercise Class
  • Bonus virtual workouts: Move, Meditate and Manipulate and Zumba (always free)

Please stop by the welcome desk at the Health and Recreation Center (Building M) to activate your eight class punch card beginning Monday, October 4. Please bring your Harper Employee I.D.

In-Person Group Exercise Class Descriptions

FST (Functional Strength Training)

This class is designed to build lean and strong muscles while increasing overall endurance. Equipment includes a variety of hand weights, medicine balls, the body bar, resistance tubes and your own body weight for a total body workout. (All Levels)

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

This non-stop powerhouse workout is guaranteed to burn calories and get your heart pumping. HIIT includes High Intensity Interval Training by combining strength exercises with cardio in short intervals. (Intermediate/Advanced)

Pilates Mat

Based on the principles of Joseph Pilates, this mat based class will strengthen and lengthen muscles, while opening joints and releasing tension. This is a powerful workout designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and coordination. (All Levels)

Spin

This high-energy studio cycling class will take you on an exciting journey of hill climbs, sprints, and intervals that focus on form, speed, strength, and endurance. Heart rate monitors will be available for checkout in the Spin Studio before class. (All Levels)

Total Body Barre

This class combines core training with easy to follow ballet exercises designed to lengthen and tone muscles. These body weight exercises will help activate the abdominals, pelvic floor, and lower back to strengthen the core, increase balance and enhance hip mobility. (All Levels)

Yoga

Synchronized poses along with breath work are sure to enhance circulation, flexibility, stamina, strength, balance and inner calm. (All Levels)

Campus Recreation Virtual Workouts

Campus Recreation wants you to stay healthy and physically fit while you continue to practice social distancing. We will continue to offer two live virtual workouts (free to all) Move, Manipulate and Meditate and Zumba.

Coronavirus (COVID19) Update

The Foglia Foundation Health and Recreation Center (Building M) is open. Harper’s COVID -19 Response team continues to monitor data and regional guidance on a weekly basis. The safety of our students, faculty and staff are our only priority. When it is safe to return to campus we will notify our members immediately.
