Harper College offers a comprehensive Pharmacy Technician Training course, preparing you for a vital role in the pharmaceutical field. Gain hands-on experience, learn about medication compounding, federal requirements, pharmacology, and patient safety, and get ready to enter this in-demand field.
Pharmacy technicians prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. They may measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders, and verify prescription or fill requests are accurate.
This 66-hour course prepares students to work under the supervision of a pharmacist. The course will focus on the foundational principles and concepts for successful participation in the pharmaceutical field. Topics include medications, federal requirements, patient safety, quality assurance, order entry, and order processing.
